New Howler Studio Pics

Hey guys... here are a few pics of the almost=finished control room. Got my first session coming in this afternoon. Most of the trim is up, and they've been out already to check out the room, so they wanted to use my "not-finished-with-the-trim-rate" while it was stll good. I'm sure I'll pull up the carpet when temps get a little nicer and get a richer mix, bit it's pretty even now.

The near-fields are very clear, great highs, and if I push the chair back about 2 feet I get the bass from the big monitors, and the folks sitting on the back couch get a nice even mix. Hope it comes up to expectations. Had another engineer in, and he loved the low-end in the center of the room.

Cousin Stephen,
All new, and already messy?
na, looks great, Mazal Tov!
From how I see it, the speaker location could do better:
you can't take the big ones off the shelves and distance them from the front wall some?
ain't the smaller ones too close to each other?
both are flat on surface, no? how about something spike-like?
I've recently begun using small rubber pieces, and there is real difference for the better.
Last thing, the curtain may be too thin, so that it might not absorb lows.
you could check it by just putting some absorbent behind the curtain, see if there is a difference.
How's the weather up there now?
Come on, build some decent stands..
It'll sound better, look better, and feel better (not to mention impress important clients).

Two more things:

From the feeling I get from the pics - DoN't CaRpEt! what for?

Be sure about the speaker height - maybe when you sit, you get the big one's woofers straight to your face? too much low end mud?

Respectfully, Ido , who knows you know all this and just forgot (less oxygen up there).

yeah, i know about the carpet, but it soothes my footsies and still sounds fine. It'll come up as soon as it gets warmer. As far as the speakers go... I'll be building some stands, but had to get them up for this session. The litle ones are for reference during cutting. they're just for me at the mixer, and the low end is very moderate. The big ones are for the clients. I can run them both at the same time, and they get a stereo mix way back in the room.
