Wall Vapor Barrier

Postby soundmaster » Wed Nov 03, 2010 10:36 pm

Hi. I am building a double wall music room in my basement. Does anyone know if I should use a 6mm vapor barrier or will that upset the springing action the insulation? The assembly is two 1/2" sheets of drywall, staggered 2x4 studs, sound-bat insulation, 1" airspace, sound-bat, staggered 2x4 studs, two 1/2" sheets of drywall. I was going to put the staple the vapor barrier to the back of the studs to hold in the sound-bat. Thanks!
