Lots of words, maybe I read 'm all later, but when they compare low and high frequencies and they say low has more energy they seem to forget that in the time one low cycle developes, a load of high cycles already have developed. So the energy is equal.
High frequencies normally are bundled and beamed by horns and line arrays while low is omni directional. So low needs more power, unless you use an enormous amount of low freq speakers like Stage Accompany did long ago during a Vangelis concert at the shores of the Maas in Rotterdam (it was the Eureka concert in 1991). The used 500.000 Watts of Blue Boxes for a 275.000 headed audience.They needed very little power in the lows compared to the highs.
And a tuned absorber still has high Q, so it will do (almost) nothing for other frequencies than the tuning frequency, and damping it to make it more broad band will kill it's effectivity.
Maybe they try to reduce costs at Riverbank and hired some Mexican techs who never saw measurements before?
