Studying Acoustics / Noise Control in Buildings

Postby mattsilvester » Sun Sep 20, 2015 3:43 am

Hi Everyone,

My first post here :-)

I am an MEP Consultant (mechanical engineer) with a keen professional interest in Acoustic Engineering in the context of buildings, and building design. I suppose "noise control" is probably a better term to use? I've been to a few seminars and read a few generic articles etc., but I'd like to study it through structured learning rather than trying to self teach.

I am living in Bangkok, so that really means "distance learning". Can anyone recommend a distance learning course?

I am originally form Ireland, so a UK based learning institution is probably best for me; but I am totally open, and happy to learn from any internationally recognized provider.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Matt

I don't know of any distant learning but I currently work at http://www.wakefieldacoustics.co.uk/ and they offer apprenticeships so if you are thinking of coming over to the UK I would certainly recommend getting in touch with them. They are a great company to work for.

Thanks
John
