impact of various materials on effective cavity size

Postby Brian Dayton » Mon Aug 16, 2004 5:24 pm

i am interested in documenting the impact of various "insulation" materials on apparent air cavity size.

in a loudspeaker we would attempt to lower the resonance and Q of a sealed box by filling it with insulation/polyfill/fiberglass/foam, etc.

in a wall we would seek to lower the stiffness of the air spring and/or affect the damping properties.

anybody ever seen such a database?

thanks,

Brian
