Subject: Behind ref mon question
HI
I've seen a few posts about deadening the area behind the reference
monitors.
My room is not treated at all & has 1 inch unfinished pine on the walls.
I have my monitors out from the wall about 15 inches
but was wondering if I should deaden the wall behind them?
There is a picture hanging directly behind them right now.
Also I'm concerned about my rack which is on the left side & comes
up to the same height as the speaker, will this give me reflection problems?
I've done a very rough sketch of my layout & posted it at this URL

Any tips?
-Should I ditch the pic & hang something to deaden the area?
-How big should it be?
-What should I use?
-Should the ceiling directly above the speakers be deadened as well?
-Should I get rid of the rack? I could probably move some gear & lower it.
-If I deaden the area can the speakers be pushed back against the wall?
Thanks
Sean
