Subject: Has anyone heard of this?
Hello all
I have found a wall system that a local company has developed for low cost
prefabricated housing. Its made up of 4" of expanded foam insulation sandwiched
between sheet metal.(just like steel security doors) Its fits together with a
tongue and groove held by screws, and it is self supporting so it doesn't need
any studs. The sheetrock then just screws to the walls with regular ole'
drywall screws. If I used these, it would be for the rooms within the existing
structure. Unfortunately they don't have any stc data so using them would be
just a guess. Has anyone heard of such a thing? I know of some second hand info
about a studio constructed of refrigeration panels (don't know if its the same
thing or not) that wasn't very successful. It seems like it should work, but I
just don't know. What do you think?
Thanks for your input
