although it does appear that most silicone caulk (or most of the items
through Home Depot's) sold is non hardening. Probably not always but sure
seems that way. In any case look for something that states 30 year
guarantee for non hardening. It shouldn't be difficult to find at all.

"Acoustic caulk' does not harden like regular latex or silicone caulk.
Bulldog Grip makes a product that Home Depot sells up here in Canada - I
would assume you can get the same stuff down in Nashville. The key word
to look for is "non-hardening".
