What's the question? Is it a framing question or an acoustical question. If
its just framing of a home studio, ask a roof truss company ... they do a set
of calcs for every truss package they sell ... and could probably reccomend a
small project engineer. If that doesn't get you there, ask a residential
contractor who he gets to sign and seal his remodel plans. Around here there
are lots of engineers who work full time (at some place like the local
electric authority) who moonlight reviewing small residential work ... costs
between 200-500 bucks to get a framing plan reviewed, marked up, and then
signed and sealed. Such a guy should be able to give you quick answers as to
proper beam and column sizes, minimum fastener strength, wind load strength,
etc.
