hi i want to make a new home studio for my self any one care to advise me .
it will be a midi studio and ill need some sort of vocal booth
i have a 24' x 32 slab in my back yard ready to roll
so what shape ahould my control room be? what size? what materials should i
use ?

Hi, Would strongly recommend you check out some of the acoustics books
mentioned. You will have to decide how soundproof you need to be, how many
people you wanna record at the same time, etc. If it is just you, you might
be able to set up one control room and do your recording in there. I think
one of the Alton Everest books has some info on this. Good Luck. Danny

Hi Danny!
The whole point is how sound proof do I want it to be.
I have seen all this talk about a studio not being totally dead going on.
But the trend here in India is to make totally dead studios, or at least try
to, which is drawing me to conflicts with the acoustic experts.
The target recordings will be mainly of Rock Bands, vocal overdubbings, some
Indian songs with instruments like tabla, dholak etc.
I have gone through all the articles at http://www.mcs.net and want to make
it as per that specs only, but then space is a limitation, so we have to
make some adaptations.
