Subject: resilient channels vs. framed out ceiling
Hello out there!
I have a question.
According to the architect drawing up my studio plans, it seems that I
have a slightly strange roof on my garage that doesn't lend itself
easily to soundproofing. The ceiling has four sides pitched up to a
point in the middle. This shape and stucture apparently makes it
somewhat challenging to build an secondary inner ceiling supported by a
secondary inner set of walls. We have discussed using resilient channels
to attach the ceiling drywall to the roof instead of attaching the
drywall to a new framed out inner ceiling.
Does anyone have any thoughts on using resilient channels to attach the
dry wall to the roof vs. the framing out of an inner ceiling for the
drywall? I could try to borrow a digital camera this weekend if that
would make analyzing this easier.
Thanks,
David
